Just An Old Ship... by tohdaryl Just An Old Ship... by tohdaryl
Speed painting practice of landscapes again. This is based on a photograph reference of the stricken ship, the American Star.

This kinda reminds me of the coast in Half-Life 2. Excellent piece of work you've done here.

It's such a shame. Americans really take the sea for a trash can... :x

We're not the only ones. Just probably the biggest.

I get that. But still, when you pride yourself on being the "most powerful nation in the world", people who did this should at least use their brains and, instead of polluting the sea even more, just simply think about tugging it. Many people in America have this general contempt for environment...

It's not contempt. It's apathy. Arguably just as bad. But that's everywhere, not just America. The problem is a human one, not a national one. But it has to start with nations of humans rising up and leading organized efforts to initate mass-change. And that's why I support the Kony 2012 movement. If we can't unite against a causeless warlord, what can we all get behind? Hopefully we'll find out as we learn we can work together.
