Out For A Swim At The Pond by tohdaryl Out For A Swim At The Pond by tohdaryl
I'm surprised at the thought of people not recognizing Ghibli's 'The Borrower Arrietty' in this picture. Must be dat ass is distracting them.

UPDATED
removed koi fishes cause they were distracting and added more plants and pebbles to show size and depth.

At first I thought the girl was reaching for a phone...sorry...then I saw you mentioning Arrietty and I realized that it was her hair clip.

I was looking very closely at her clothes on the rock (before figuring out it was Arrietty) and I just couldn't figure out why that little red clip looked familiar. Felt very silly afterwards. :) Very nice work!!

I think that not alot of people watched it and that's why they didn't recognize it. It came out only recently didn't it, this year? I didn't know it was her. I just thought it was a girl swimming in water, abeit a very well drawn girl (along with well drawn waters)

Aha ! This movie is great :3

Though, in truth, I also did not recognise her at first. I can't really see what exactly it is she's reaching for. I know it's her things because I've seen the movie, but maybe if you detailed them a bit more she will be more recognisable as Arrietty.

also, yes, love dat ass.

This picture is beautiful. I like how you did the scenery. The boulders surrounding the pond truly stand out while those inside it show how deep the pond in. The plants surrounding the pond also look vibrant. I also like the lady in the water. Even though one can't see her face, I can tell that she feels serene and at peace. This picture brings a smile to my face.
Overall, nicely done. :icongreatjobplz:

The water surface isn't as good as the other one, but you're probably right about dat mass being a distraction :D

Giant koi is giant. (Or small thumbelina is small.)
I like the simplicity (both thematic and stylistic) in these pieces.
