Xing Tian (Chinese: 刑天; pinyin: Xíngtiān) is a notable deity of Chinese mythology who fights against the Supreme Divinity, (sometimes known as Tian), not giving up even after the event of his decapitation. Losing the fight for supremacy, he was beheaded and his head buried in Changyang Mountain. Nevertheless, headless, with a shield in one hand and a battle ax in the other, he continues the fight, using for eyes his nipples and for a mouth his bellybutton.
this is GREEEEAAAATTTT!
I love this series, and everyone of them is in my favourites! Do you mind if I do a series of alphabetical creatures? I will try to do different ones, although I will have to steal Umibozu, if it's ok! (I will do all my own artwork, by the way )
Hahaha, so that legend was the inspiration for the robot designs in Gurren Lagann all having faces on their bellies i suppose .. even the "fight the power" motto seems to fit ... cool drawing .. i like this series a lot
Oh wow I remember this guy. He totally freaked me out as a kid when I read about him in that mythology book! I love how you interpreted him here, and I totally approve of this mythology reference series you've been doing!
Row Row! Fight the powah!
This... You are so awesome making mythological ref like this
You canīt stop a brave heart, even with beheading his owner ;__;
I remember these assholes from the Twin Labyrinths, anything involved with the Twin Labyrinths can go fuck itself
You talking about La-Mulana? (Seeing the pic and the fact you mentioned Twin Labirynths... in which I'm stuck right now ghaaaaaaaa)
Yes, I'm talking about La-Mulana, and I so glad someone got that. I played the old one 5 years ago when it got translated and loved it, but hated the Twin Labyrinths with all my soul, and somehow they managed to make it more annoying with some of the jumps in the new PC one...
Heh, well I'm playing the Remake version, a friend introduced me to it. I know what you mean with the annoyance in Twin Labirynths (sometimes have the urge to whip NIGORO cast with a chain whip for few frustrations)
Ohh nooo the series is almost ending D: Do you have any more plans to do these kinds of things again?
That's interesting that the Chinese had their own version of the blemmye.
ahahahahah why is this funny? it's actually kinda cute too QuQ
He reminds me of those old sailors tales of people with faces on their chests, or the people who have one foot that they use as a sun shade.
Just when I thought I couldn't love you more you do this!!!!
o.o talk about determination...
I always look forward to finding updates from you on my news feed. Love the art and mythology combination
creepy but cool
Hahaha I can honestly say, I was not expecting something like this when I woke up.
