Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'Hoole, the latest animated feature from the folks that gave us dancing penguins. I like Happy Feet no doubt but I like hardcore surfing ones better.

Now showing in 3D, you'll be entertained by lots of dizzying camera angles, flappin' wings, and slow-mooooootion scenes that suppose to make you go wwwwwwwwwwoooooowwwww...... but after the painful slow-mos in RE:Afterlife, this is getting boring.

Anyways its a nice film, story's so so and visuals are cool. Fight scenes with owls wearing armored helms and metal gauntlet claws and bats with blades in their wings (reminds me of Usagi Yojimbo comics,) was pretty awesome.

I'm now deciding should I spend on watching M. Night's demonic elevator film 'Devil' or maybe just take the stairs instead. Oh well.
  • Mood: Joy
  • Listening to: Owl City - Firefiles
  • Reading: more random comics
  • Watching: ADVENTURE TIME with Finn and Jake
  • Playing: with my um... imagination.
  • Eating: the citizens of candy kingdom
  • Drinking: lots of water

I would take the stairs. Because I am a wimp. I can't even watch the freaking previews for the "Devil." What would possess someone to make a movie like that? *no pun intended*

Still, I suppose the people who are less wimpy-er than I am may enjoy it. More power to ya.

I prefer the books, but the movie made me feel good inside...<3 There are complaints I have, but I usually keep them to myself.

In grade 6 I read through the whole series o__o 20 books ^^ and I loved them, but then again.. they movie probably knocks out a lot from the books - that always happens x__x I might check it out regardless though...

Go for the stairs... I don't know if you saw The Last Airbender, but it took a good 10 years off my life...

I saw th Devil movie and thought it would be pretty lacking. I mean come on, they're stuck in an elevator the whole time. It ended up being pretty good though, and there's a little twist.

I want to see Devil so bad XD.

I had to go see Ga'Hoole, because that was my very favorite series back in middle school. I liked how pretty the movie was to look at xD, but good lord, there was so much they mixed up, removed entirely, or made up and threw in there when they didn't need to.

I know movies are never exactly like their book inspirations, but holy crap X'D. And it was also my first 3d movie, and, I have to say it didn't impress me as any better than a normal not-3d showing ._.

I was planning on watching this just for the visuals. Glad to hear they aren't a letdown.

Though plot-wise, that's just what to expect from a movie made out of a long series.

I saw it yesterday. Thought it was cool, but I do have to agree about the slow-mo. @_@ Especially in 3D. D: My eyes were so tired.

I actually really liked the movie (saw it yesterday)

I haven't read the book so I might be missing something, but either way, it was a good watch imo.

Take the stairs. I think after The Last Airbender, I have no choice but to give up on Shamylan. -_-

Guardians of Ga'Hoole was visually stunning, but I agree with you- the slow-mo camera needs to be put to rest alongside it's cousin, the-move-faster-after-slow-mo camera. I felt like the story moved a little fast and threw too many characters at the audience without developing them.

I loved the animation and the art. I thought the 3D effects were really cool too however the plot seemed so rushed and I feel like anyone who read the book would be disapointed with the lack of characterd depth.

Overall, it wasn't a bad movie, but nothing about it has stuck with me, or will stick with me. In ten years I'll barely remember it. :/

I bet you this is M. Night's attempt to encourage people into getting healthy habits by motivating them to take the stairs instead of the elevator. Scare the mass with superstitious fears of haunted elevators and take the stairs instead! :)
